Although the UK Audio Show at Staverton is getting closer, I still consider the North West Audio Show to be the better of the UK commercial shows.
It has a good location with a wide variety of room sizes, there's lots to see, its more dealer orientated than manufacturer lead (so the systems are varied, rather than all components from one maker), the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly and, its free to enter.
Based at Cranage Hall, near Holmes Chapel in Cheshire - the venue offers 3 floors of exhibition rooms - some in the old hall and some in the more modern conference / accommodation areas. There's buffet food and sandwiches on offer as well as the usual tea / coffee and bar. An area is dedicated to vinyl sales and the wider corridors have smaller exhibitors such as isolation equipment providers, record cleaning kit etc. It could be possible to spend both days at this show, but I had to make do with what I could fit into 1 day.
